Guest guest
Greetings, Our family (little ones included!) have actively been involved in attempting to halt the Aerial Pesticide Spraying of Monterey County for the light brown apple moth. Tryndl (3.5 yrs) was very proud to see himself and his mom (me!) on the front page of The Monterey Herald last week as we spoke out at a rally against the spraying. The aerial spraying was cancelled temporarily and has since been rescheduled for this coming Sunday. Don't be naive in thinking it doesn't affect you if you live in Santa Cruz County or elsewhere in the state~country or world for that matter! It does affect you! If they go through with this aerial spraying IT WILL be USED AS LEVERAGE to FORCE the rest of the California to do the same. All other cities have thus far opposed the spraying and have implemented the available alternatives, we need to help Monterey County residents fight this one or we'll be next. If you need more info about why this is happening, why you should be concerned, please let me know and I will forward info your way! If you are out of state please still forward this info on to all you know in California or to those you think may be of assistance in our efforts. Here is a petition to sign. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/mcapplemoth/ Also, we need to hustle and get on the phone today and tomorrow with Governor Schwarznegger. Here's an interesting tidbit fwd'd from my friend Christy: " I just spoke with a woman in Governor Schwarzenegger's office. She says that although he has not made a public statement, he is opposed to the spraying and has the ability to stop this, but he needs to hear from us! " If you have not already done so, please call ASAP! Then forward this to everyone you can think of! We have less than 48 hours to stop those planes! 916-445-2841 Press 1 Press 5 Press 0 You will speak to on of his representatives1 Or email him at this link: http://gov.ca.gov/about/arnold DON'T STOP THERE: Call California Food and Agriculture: 1 800 491-1899. They should take your name, address, number and your message of discontent with the spraying. If we are going to stop this we have to act quick, as there is little time left! Let's get this petition circulating and these calls made. PLEASE FWD THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW! We are in this together and we need to help Monterey County residents be heard!! Power to the People~ Azalyne, Jay, n (6 yrs), Elyas (3.5yrs), Tryndl (3.5yrs) SKYEOLSON! -- " Carefully watch your THOUGHTS, for they become your WORDS. Manage and watch your WORDS, for they will become your ACTIONS. Consider and judge your ACTIONS, for they have become your HABITS. Acknowledge and watch your HABITS, for they shall become your VALUES. Understand and embrace your VALUES, for they become YOUR DESTINY.
