Guest guest
oh! yeah :)if you go to the map itself and then enter something into the search box, a bunch of business will pop up. click the one you want, and on the little embedded window that pops up with the business info, you will see a link that says, "save to my maps". then select the map in the drop down menu and hit save.another pop up window will appear, where you can enter your own information if you life. click ok to add the business.then, in the left hand column, you have to hit the 'save' and then the 'done' buttons to commit your changes.it sounds way more complicated than it actually is! let me know if it gives you any trouble. On Nov 29, 2007, at 8:10 AM, Connie Hampton wrote:,Can you add or tell us how to add places?Whole Foods at 3000 Telegraph Ave, BerkeleyBerkeley Bowl at 2020 Oregon Ave, BerkeleyBerkeley Natural Grocery at 1336 Gilman St, AlbanyEl Ceritto Natural Grocery at 10367 San Pablo Ave, El CerittoRanch 99, 3288 Pierce St, Richmond Connie HamptonHampton & Associatesconnie at hampton-research.comwww.hampton-research.com(510) 601-1343ChairSan Francisco Bay Area Researchers and Recruiters Associationwww.sfbara.org From: [mailto: ]On Behalf Of StiavettiSent: Wednesday, November 28, 2007 6:57 PM Subject: [ ] GF Map? Guest guest
Those instructions only work for maps that I generate, but I think I figured it out. As a collaborator, to get my placemarks to stick to the Gluten Free Bay Area map (and not my own private map), I had to do the following: 1. Click the Edit button in the left sidebar2. Use the Add a placemark button to add businesses where I wanted3. Fill in the business information in the balloon box as appropriate.I would save businesses to my own map so that I could copy and past the HTML out of my own placemark balloons and into the ones I created for the Gluten Free Bay Area map. Worked easiest if I kept two browser windows open side by side. It would be nice if Google would recognize collaborators on a map that someone else created and allowed them to save placemarks just as the map creator does, but the above process seems to get the job done. Again - great idea . I hope to see this continue to grow!Cheers,Joe-- Joe http://sanbeiji.com/On Nov 29, 2007 2:54 PM, Stiavetti < steph@...> wrote: oh! yeah :)if you go to the map itself and then enter something into the search box, a bunch of business will pop up. click the one you want, and on the little embedded window that pops up with the business info, you will see a link that says, " save to my maps " . then select the map in the drop down menu and hit save. another pop up window will appear, where you can enter your own information if you life. click ok to add the business.then, in the left hand column, you have to hit the 'save' and then the 'done' buttons to commit your changes. it sounds way more complicated than it actually is! let me know if it gives you any trouble.
