I received an email this morning that they are closing their doors tonight.

What a shame. , Vic, Hallie and I had a fantastic time there just a

short while ago.

I'm going tonight with my family, if anyone would like to join me for a last

gluten free

dinner there.

Pure and utter sadness,

Carla

Dear Carla,

The aria is complete, the curtain is closing... 33 years of

tradition is over!

It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of DiCicco's

Ristorante Italiano in .

The costs of operating a " Mom and Pop " establishment in this

economy is too high. The price of fuel has affected us with

suppliers charging high delivery fees. January of 2007 brought a

50¢ increase in the minimum wage and January 2008 brings an

additional 50¢ increase. It doesn't seem like much but it adds up

to almost $2,000 per month in payroll increases! Dairy Farmers are

being outbid by alternative fuel producers for grain, therefore we

have seen the price of cheese nearly triple in the 3 years!

Advertising expenses are up and PG & E bills continue to soar all

while the rest of the economy suffers (we all complain about our

home bills ranging from $200 -$300 - $400... can you imagine writing

a check each month for over $4,000?). We just can't raise the

prices for the dinners you enjoy, again.

It has been a great journey with all of you. It is our customers,

many who have become great friends, that have made this adventure

the most fulfilling thing I have ever done. I have 'lived my dream'

and you were all a grand part of it. Your support, your

word-of-mouth advertising, the special dinners you have hosted with

us, the Saturday nights we have spent enjoying a great bottle of

wine with you will be life-long memories for us. We were blessed

with witnessing an engagement, being chosen as the venue for the

rehearsal dinner, catering the wedding, and just a couple of months

ago attending a baptism of their first child. Traditions at

DiCicco's are rooted in splendid Italian style. They will all be

missed but remembered fondly.

We have tonight to shovel as much Cioppino, Chicken

Parmigiana, and fried Calamari down our throats, as we can! We hope

you can enjoy one more DiCicco's family dinner with us tonight.

Please call for a reservation if you plan to come, as we expect a

crowd!

Tonight, The Fat Lady Sings!

Thank you for everything!

, Rick & Carol
