Guest guest
Thanks for this post. I too loved Guinness and the really flavorful, non-carbonated beers. I thought Redbridge tasted like a cross between Budweiser and Sam - neither of which were my favorites. It tastes most like “real beer”. I was a Guinness and micro brew drinker back in the day. The first time I had Bard’s I was IN LOVE. I even went to bed without brushing my teeth to savor the bitter aftertaste that much longer… Yuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmm… From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Christian Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2008 8:48 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: New Grist I've tried all three and I've found Redbridge to be the least expensive, best tasting and more readily available of the three. I live in s Valley and have found it at s Valley Market, U-Save liquors as well as Felton New Leaf. Bard's Tale isn't half bad either. A little darker and I agree, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. I think that's common with all sorghum based beers, but redbridge seems to hide it better than the other two. I didn't like New Grist at all, it reminded me of the old bitter beer face commercials. In the long run, I'm just excited to have three options. A year or two ago, I was struggling without my two beers a night. That was probably what I missed the most.seamaiden399 <seamaiden399 > wrote: I strongly disliked Bard's Tale because of the bitter aftertaste. Ifyou haven't tried Redbridge I recommend it. It's available in someWhole Foods and New Leaf Health food store. But it's fun to try themall and find your own favorite! I am saving my New Grist to try thisweekend- and am looking forward to it. - Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search. Guest guest
Thanks to you both for posting. I too miss funky, awesome local beer. It's great to have a small brewery we can support just by drinking fab beer again! > > I strongly disliked Bard's Tale because of the bitter aftertaste. Guest guest
Yay! So nice to know I am not alone. Bard’s is the only thing I would classify as “real beer”. But then again, I’m an alcohol snob. My dad was a wine trader, so I only got the best as an education into my drinking. Both beer and wine. Bard’s lovers UNITE!!!
