San Francisco Chronicle columnist, Sonoma food writer,

and author of many cookbooks, Mallorca will be giving

a talk on gluten-free cooking featuring recipes for quick, modern

meals that are sure to appeal to the health conscious cook,

whether gluten sensitive or not.

Free parking, free admission, a couple of delicious gluten-free

nibbles, a free copy of THE WHEAT-FREE COOK, Gluten-Free

Recipes for Everyone to one lucky attendee, and lots of great

information to help make shopping, cooking and living gluten-free

Cooking Spree. The Gluten-Free Cooking Spree is an event that

joins together the medical and lifestyle aspects of celiac disease

to educate both doctors and chefs about celiac disease and the

gluten-free diet.

**Secret Ingredient = Gluten-Free Pasta**

Here's how it works:

*Top chefs, doctors and reporters will be put on to teams of three.

Each team will have one chef, one doctor and one dietitian.

Together the doctor, chef and dietitians will work to create the

best gluten-free meal.

*Attendees will sample the food cooked by the chefs and enjoy a

large assortment of other gluten-free food options. Come hungry!

All attendees will take home a fabulous goodie bag filled with

treats from a variety of gluten-free vendors.

*A three-person panel will judge recipes.

Redbridge beer.

Gourmet Pizza on the Rise...

Stop by for pizza lunch at Cafe Mariposa!! Pizza is available daily

between 12-3pm. Topped with fresh seasonal ingredients from local

farmers markets, our pizzas are a gluten-free slice of heaven. Pizzas

can be bought by the slice or whole. (Whole pizzas can also be

ordered in advance). Pizza slices are $3.75 per slice and whole

weekly pizza variety on a 10 " pizza crust that has been packaged

and frozen for your convenience. These pizzas can go directly from

freezer to oven, the perfect treat for you to enjoy alone or with others.

Frozen topped pizzas are $12.00 for a 10 " pie.

In addition to our topped pizzas we also sell GF pizza crusts, already

shaped, par-baked, and ready for toppings. Simply store them in

your freezer for quick and easy pizza meals. Frozen pizza crusts are

$4.50 for a 10' pizza crust.

As we enter 2008, Mariposa is excited to offer a daily menu of fresh

baked bread, bagels, and mini baguettes.

Perfect for sandwiches, our bread loaves are available everyday after

11am. Topped with a variety of seeds, these loaves come in plain,

sesame, poppyseed, and everything. If you are driving from afar, it is

always a good idea to call ahead and reserve a loaf because our

scrumptious bread sells fast! Join us bright and early for our delicious

bagels. We offer plain, sesame, poppyseed, cinnamon raisin, and

chocolate chip. Order them plain or toasted with cream cheese or

jam for a perfect breakfast treat! Our mini baguettes come seeded

and plain with a crunchy outer crust. They are wonderful for making

crostini or pairing with cheese to satisfy any savory craving!
