Guest guest
Hi there: Welcome to our group. I did a quick search of our group archives & looked for any posts for the past year that may have contained Kaiser in them and didn't find any. I don't ever remember hearing of Kaiser before. If you need good tips on how to fight your ins. company though you can check out www.plagiocephaly.org then insurance help. I am sorry to hear of the horrible run around all the Drs. you have seen have given you. It's unfortunately, very common. Has your daughter been casted yet for his DOCband?? I am sure you'll see correction with the band, even though your daughter is " older " to begin her therapy. Good luck with all of this. You're a terrific parent for doing all this on your own to get your daughter the treatment she needs. Please keep us updated on her progress & welcome again Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > Has anyone else had to fight Kaiser on this? Guest guest
Do you by any chance have a link? I just looked on their site & couldn’t find anything… From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of eulaione Sent: Wednesday, October 17, 2007 8:37 AM Subject: [ ] Kaiser Hello, Yesterday's Los Angeles Times had a very sad article about problems at Kaiser's Fresno hospital. This had nothing to do with Celiac, but it did report on some serious problems at that Kaiser facility. I have generally had a good experience at Kaiser, but I was diagnosed as being severely anemic twenty years ago and they never followed up on it. It was another twenty years before the celiac was diagnosed. Take care, Eula

Guest guest
Interesting article in today's LA Times.... HMOs not meeting national standards in basic areas, report says.... Kaiser gets the best score among the plans. When reated by consumers, most receive " good " marks for overall performance. I live in Sacramento and have a very good oncologist at the Morse Hospital facility in Sac. I am also a patient of Dr. Shah at UCSF--he's my CML specialist, and my onc at Kaiser is happy to work with him. I pay for visits to Dr. Shah, but my onc has arranged to get my PCRs done at the UCSF facility, which is where Dr. Shah recommended, so I don't have to pay separately (or at least any more than the $10 co-pay) for the PCR tests. I was dx June 1, went onto Gleevec at 400 mg about June 7, and as of late December I have a 1.5 log reduction (BMB/BMA showed 1 philly).
