Oakland Dinner

My friend and I have tickets to go see Gwen Stefani next Fri in

Oakland and I'm wondering if anyone has a good suggestion for dinner

either in the area or on our drive up. (We're coming from the south

south bay - Hill and Gilroy.) She'll eat anything and I'm not

all that picky, either. Price isn't a concern because well...the

tickets were a gift. I figured this would be a good excuse to try a

new place.

Oh yeah...my friend wants to drive, so I guess we'll be doing that

instead of BART.

Oliveto’s upstairs!! We just had

dinner there on Tuesday (a meeting for a presentation) and the food was

spectacular AND the chef is gluten intolerant so they really know what you can

eat on the menu. We had a special menu but they brought me an amazing fava

bean and smoked cod dish (from the regular menu) instead of the pasta course.

Oliveto’s is next to the Rockridge BART station on College and Shafter and

there is free parking in the BART lot after 3 pm.

Other great places are Bay Wolf and Chez

Panisse of course.

I don’t know of anything near the

Colliseum.
