Guest guest
Patients generally shouldn't be gluten free for the antibody testing or the scoping, so talk to your GI doctor about this. Generally people consume more gluten for the tests rather than less. But poor little guy, I'm sure it's really tough on him. I think it's pretty normal when a little one is really sick for them to have more energy when they start feeling better.. I know when I was really sick I didn't have much energy- just the pictures make that clear. Some people do feel lethargic when they eat gluten when they are intolerant to it. Best wishes and good health to your family! - > > I just wanted to thank Susi, Debbie, , Victor, and Hallie for > their help and kind words. Guest guest
Dorothy, don't be surprised if the GI doc wants your son to go back on gluten. If the scope can be scheduled SOON, that may not be necessary. Molly's behavior and energy levels changed within a week of going GF. Many celiacs are anemic, especially before diagnosis. That'll zap anyone's energy. When a toddler is starving to death and has a horrible stomachache and other aches (Molly's bones had demineralized; she stopped walking), he or she doesn't feel like playing!
