Guest guest
This was on the news briefly--Amtrak train with about 100 passengers collided with a freight train--doesn't sound related to other events so far. Also was a report that passengers on another train wouldn't let a guy in a turban stay on the train for fear he was a terrorist. Sad. Salt Lake City Anyone out in Salt Lake that can tell me what has happened with the two trains colliding. -- Best Regards, Casten <tcasten@...> National Air Traffic Controllers Association NATCA Communications Chairman Click reply to all for messages to go to the list. Guest guest
My knee jerk reaction was to write my Congressman and ask that he deport any Arab who didn't have citizenship and not allow anyone of that particular ethnicity into this country for a long while. Then I watched the news and saw that some Arab Americans were being attacked, their businesses shot at, etc. I was so stunned by this and felt that we as Americans cannot lower ourselves to their level. We can't let fear make us do things that are NOT American. I see this country as a place where everyone can belong. My knee jerk reaction went out the window but I still want those who did this caught and punished. To those of you so close to this--I don't know how you feel but I have seen a very diverse, very caring group of New Yorkers and Washingtonians who are proud to be diverse and proud to be Americans. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
Hi, I do have Arab children in my class. We have everyone here. We are trying to keep the peace and to respect all cultures and ethnicities. We are holing on to, " sometimes bad things happen and not all people in any one culture are bad. " And that we should respect each other regardless of how they look or what name they have. That is the message we are trying to give our children. Our children. I've been to many LPA conferences and this one has to rank right up at the top. The fashion show, talent show and banquet were the best ever. So here is a long over due Thank You to the SLC Conference committee for sharing their beautiful city and having such a well organized conference. Maybe the Travel Channel's Little People Big Convention should be nominated for the LPA media award. Lizzie

Guest guest
Salt Lake/Provo/Orem is reasonably celiac friendly. What area will you be in? Downtown Salt Lake has a PF Changs and numerous other chain restaurants. Just wander & ask - I lived in the area for nearly five years and never went hungry. Most places are actually pretty knowledgeable about Gluten around there. Oh, there are some GREAT mexican chains there that I miss dearly! Cafe Rio, Bajio Grill and Costa Vida. Costa Vida has their GF info posted on their website, but at Cafe Rio just stick with corn Tortillas and stay away from the pork. Hope this is at least a little helpful.
