Guest guest
Colibri, across from the ACT Theater, is reasonably GF-friendly. It's high-end-ish Mexican, and really good. I think they told us the last time that they don't use any wheat flour in anything, but of course double-check on that, but my boyfriend (who's GF) and I have eaten there several times and he's not had any problems. http://www.colibrimexicanbistro.com/ On Feb 17, 2008 9:53 AM, piglet95037 <csilverstein@...> wrote: > > > > > > > Hi all. Guest guest
Also, I've often seen families with kids there; it's attached to a hotel and close to Union Square, so it's pretty family- and tourist- and casual-friendly. Guest guest
, thank you so much! A friend of mine is in town for a conference and they changed the schedule so she has the afternoon off. I thought I'd drive up and see her. Plus two of our other friends are going to surprise her by being there, too! I love last minute things like this. Thanks again for your help. Guest guest
In the Macy's Cellar there is a Mexican place called Frontera. I was hesitant to order, but thought I'd give it a shot. The chef heard me asking questions, walked over and told me everything on the menu that I could have that was GF. She said she gets the question at least once a day. http://www.rickbayless.com/restaurants/fresco.html is Rick Bayless's website (I love his cookbooks too). > > > > > > > > > > > > > > , thank you so much! > > A friend of mine is in town for a conference and they changed the > > schedule so she has the afternoon off. Guest guest
- Thanks so much for recommending Colibri. My sister in law came into town unexpectedely and was staying in Union square so we drove up and went to Colibri last night for dinner. It was wonderful! Our server asked the chef what to avoid (anything w/ the corn cakes and the shrimp which I think was 2-3 dishes total on the menu to avoid) and we had a feast - everything was sooo good and it was great having such a variety of things to order. I wish there was somewhere like Colibri in the south bay. Our dessert choices were the mango creme brulee or flan. We shared the creme brulee which was yummy. I've added Colibri to the gluten free bay area google map. thanks again, Jean > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi all.
