I was looking for unique chocolates for my wife for Valentine's Day,

but I had to check first as to if they were gluten free. So, I

emailed ph Schmidt (now a division of Artisan Confections with is

a division of Hershey. This is the sad response:

From: Artisan Confections Customer Care

Dear ,

Unfortunately, due to the fact that we make and process some

confections containing biscotti crunch, none of our products are

certified gluten free (truffles or molded items). The majority of our

chocolates do not directly contain gluten but cross contamination may

be an issue.

Thank you for your inquiry,

Garber

Artisan Confections Company

Dagoba Organic Chocolate

So a NO on ph Schmidt, Scharffen Berger, and Dagoba but only

because of the possibility of cross-contamination.

On the other hand, I talked to chocolatier Holly Westbrook of

Chocolate Dreambox in Los Gatos. She assured me that all of her

chocolates are GF. My wife is finding the chocolates delicious, but

they are expensive. The store is at:

710 Blossom Hill Rd.

Los Gatos, CA 95032
