Had A Wonderful Dinner at DiCiccio's in

My husband and I dined at DiCiccio's last Friday night. Our server

was knowledgeable about g-f and knew exactly what needed to be done

regarding cooking g-f pasta in clean water, etc. I had spaghetti

with marinara sauce and mushrooms and a green salad with ranch

dressing - all g-f. It was absolutely delicious! My husband

enjoyed their regular spaghetti with meatballs and their wonderful

(I guess!) french bread!

What is an Italian dinner without bread, you say? Since the

restaurant is not yet serving g-f bread, I brought along my own

delicious version of cheese bread. Before leaving home to the

restaurant, I brushed the bottom of a small Kinninnick pizza crust

with oil and sprinkled some garlic powder on top and popped it on to

a rack in my toaster oven to get a little crispy. I then sprinkled

some mozzarella cheese on top and baked it for a few minutes until

the cheese was bubbling and the pizza crust was brown and crispy. I

warmed up a microwave gel pack and popped it into a cloth lunch bag

and put my bread on top. It was still very warm when we reached the

restaurant. The bread was absolutely dipped into ranch dressing,

and I enjoyed my bread with my salad and spaghetti just

like " regular " people!

If more of us frequent DiCiccio's with our families and friends, who

knows? Maybe they will start making a g-f cheese bread similar to

this or even g-f pizza!!!
