It's time to ring

in Spring! Starting Thursday, March 20th, we will be extending our

Thursday hours and staying open until 6pm. We hope this will make it

easier for many of you to visit us during the week.

There were also

many requests for us to be open on Sundays. Although we are not able to

open on Sundays this month, we are working on getting a staff in place

to be open on Sundays in April, so please stay tuned!

Layer Cakes and Hamentashen

special

occasion delights available this month

As of March 20th,

Cafe Mariposa will be offering frosted layer cakes, perfect for

birthdays and special occasions. These deliciously beautiful cakes, crafted

by Hanna at Kapcakes, will be available at our bakeshop year-round

starting in less than 10 days!

The cakes we are

offering are 8 " , two-layer cakes, in either vanilla or

chocolate. The light gluten-free cakes are most similar to a chiffon

cake and they contain dairy, eggs and almonds. Swing by to pick up a

cake for a special occasion or just because they are yummy! Hanna's

cakes are the best ...

Also from

Kapcakes, we will be offering hamentashen cookies for Purim.

These triangle-shaped, fruit-filled cookies will be available from

Thursday, March 20th through Saturday, March 22rd.

Meet Ann Whelan

of " Gluten-Free Living " Magazine

editor/publisher

Ann Whelan will be here April 12...

Ann Whelan,

editor/publisher of Gluten-Free Living, will be here for a meet-the-editor event

on Saturday, April 12.

Gluten-Free

Living began as an 8-page black and white newsletter. It grew as Ann

put in-depth research into each article and wrote in a clear style

that was easy to read and understand.

Ann went places

no one had gone previously - to the food scientists and researchers,

food processors, ingredient suppliers, government officials and

others who had the information celiacs were looking for. She

straightened out misinformation and in the process made it easier for

celiacs to make safe food choices.

Ann will be here

at Cafe Mariposa from 11am-1pm on April 12 with magazines and stories

to share. We hope you'll join us!

Book Signing

with Mallorca

plan ahead for

mother's day

Also, save the

date -- Saturday, May 10 for a book signing with Mallorca,

author of " The Wheat-Free Cook " , a must-have cookbook for

all gluten-free kitchens. is a fantastic local food writer

and her book has been praised by many, including Dr. Green of Columbia University and Chuck ,

founder of -Sonoma.

Come meet

, check out her fabulous cookbook right before Mother's Day

and sample some of our newest delights here at Cafe Mariposa!

Thank

you!
