Reminder: As Naren says, lump charcoal is a safer choice than briquettes. You can use a chimney rather than lighter fluid. Many briquettes are held together with wheat starch, which may bother some people. I don't want to take the chance. Besides, once you read the ingredients on briquettes, you just don't want to touch them.

Re beans: I started to buy "Great Western Mixed Beans" or something close to that. The label said it contained several kinds of beans -- and barley. Not good at all. I wouldn't have thought it necessary to read the label on a plastic bag of plain dried beans, with no seasoning mix included.

My apologies for going on and on to no point, yesterday, about the barbeque I was able to get until recently. I guess I was just feeling hungry.
