Hi everyone,

I was at my local Nob Hill Foods today. They now have a dedicated

section of gluten-free foods in their grocery store! I believe this

is brand-new. I shop there weekly, and had not seen it before.

Granted, it's a small section, but I give them huge kudos for having a

special gluten-free section in a regular grocery store. I think it's

pretty rare! I don't know if it will be in all their stores, but it

could be worth exploring if you have one in your area (Nob Hill and

Raley's are run by the same company, and I think they also have one

other grocery store in the same chain of companies, but the name is

not coming to my mind at this point).

They also have a special store magazine that comes out about four

times a year, with lots of beautiful recipes and cooking ideas. In

the past year or so, they've started paying more attention to special

diets. One reader wrote in requesting that they consider gluten-free

issues, and they're doing so with more regularity. If you shop at Nob

Hill or Raley's, it's worth picking up their magazine. Not all of the

recipes are gluten free, but some are. Last fall, I got a delicious

recipe for a butternut squash and pear soup from them that was great!

Take care,

Bear

Hi Bear,

I saw a small gluten free section at Nob Hill here in Lost Gatos too.

Across the street at Whole Foods they have quite a few GF mixes and

flours as well as noodles etc., some cookies and breakfast foods. The

choices seem to be getting a bit larger lately. Slowly we are making

progress.
