Guest guest
I ate at the Slanted Door today. The waitstaff understood about CD, knew quite a bit about the requirements, and double-checked everything with the kitchen. Now, if only they'd stock GF beer. Guest guest
Yes, sigh. I'm accustomed to ruling out anything that contains soy sauce, or that MIGHT contain soy sauce. But, it would be nice, wouldn't it. H. Guest guest
I was in a German deli that had imported German potato-based side dish mixes. I read the ingredients and they had soy sauce in them! Never expected that in a German import. --- flatcat9@... wrote: > Yes, sigh. I'm accustomed to ruling out anything > that contains soy sauce, or > that MIGHT contain soy sauce. Guest guest
Is Slanted Door the Vietnamese place at the Ferry Building?... if so, when I ate there (almost a couple years ago now I think) the only gluten free item was a rice flour crepe, but I remember it was really good. I think I recall that their fish sauce was not gluten free... despite the fact that it was not from Hong Kong. I had heard that usually the cheaper brand fish sauce mostly from Hong Kong tend to have gluten and others do not, but this brand was an exception. Sorry I didn't note down the name. It's helpful such facts when you can't request to the bottle.
