My concern lies not only with overt reaction but also with "silent" damage to bones, nervous system, gut, etc. I don't want to increase my chances of cancer, stroke, osteoporosis, memory loss, or anything else for the sake of a doughnut! And I don't want my family to have to deal with the possible bad results, now or years down the line.

I am extremely sensitive, so I could never do the test run, but even if I could ingest gluten with no side effects the idea of “cheating†doesn’t seem fitting.  I am told that all it takes is an 1/8 tsp to do damage and that each time gluten enters a Celiac’s system it does damage…and the long term effects of cancer, infertility and osteoporosis keep me far away.

I was given the example of “CD is not like diabetes were you can cheat with a piece of cake on your birthday and deal with the consequences.  A one time cheat adds to the cumulative damage.â€Â

Anyone else this way?
