Guest guest
I didn’t find out until last year that I cannot tolerate soy either. My mother tells me she fed me soy formula as a baby, and I just cried & cried all the time. Perhaps she’s got a soy or dairy thing too. It’s not all that uncommon among our community. I don't have any experience with a baby with Celiac but I'd say stay in close touch with your doctor, and doublecheck again to make sure every food or substance that she ingests is free of gluten or its derivatives. I know that I was very sick for a solid year after being diagnosed, and a big part of it was I was making mistakes about things I thought had no gluten but did. But of course your baby's situation is very different. Was the diagnosis confirmed via an endoscopy and biopsy of the small intestine? If not, maybe she has something else wrong. If so, maybe she has something wrong in addition to Celiac. Good luck! L²
Guest guest
With wheat allergies, the gut is inflammed and "leaky", so soy and dairy just aggravate the whole system. When I was first diagnosed, I had to give up soy for 3 months but now I have it regularly with no problem. Like many Celiacs, I am also latose intolerant as well. I push the envelope on dairy but should really just stick to yogurt and kefir. Good luck with the baby's new diet. Read labels always, stuff changes all the time. ----- Original Message ----From: Lillyth Denaghy Keogh-Quillan <lillythdenaghykeogh@...> Sent: Friday, March 14, 2008 9:59:17 AMSubject: RE: [ ] Re:Recently diagnosed 18 month old girl I didn¢t find out until last year that I cannot tolerate soy either.
