Guest guest
Dr. G's office told me that we could only have non-organic white rice milk. I have been unable to find any. The 365 brand of white rice milk was not approved because it was organic. Unfortunately, we have no Trader Joes in Tulsa, OK. Re: Re: rice milk It's brown rice partially milled. Guest guest
Wow, my in laws live in Tulsa. We were there in June. What is the rational for non organic? Do you have Albertson's? Our stores in California carry rice milk, so you might find it there. I know his website recommends Rice Dream, which you can purchase in most grocery stores. Good luck, Robyn Robins <susan.robins@...> wrote: Dr. G's office told me that we could only have non-organic white rice milk. I have been unable to find any. Guest guest
Dr. G does not like organic grains because they aren't processed enough. Guest guest
Robyn: The Rice Dream brand changed their formulation. It is no longer considered okay on the diet. Guest guest
I should've checked my e-mail before I went to the store and purchased some Rice Dream. I think it's still on the website, though. We were in the office yesterday and they gave me the paper on Dos and Don'ts of Diet. I'll have to see if Rice Dream is still on there. Where do you go to check when something is removed? We had a great appointment yesterday. Noah has to go to a NeuroSpect scan right away. Has anyone had any luck getting insurance to reimburse for that? Thanks for all your help. This listserv is a lifesaver! Guest guest
Oh, Sue: We are sorry that you are having a bad day. How could rice milk have Arsenic in it? I agree with Rogene, you should see your doctor, because you have been having many health problems....bless your heart. This sounds illegal to me, and someone should do something to stop this. It is in the rice, because has just found the article. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/main.jhtml?xml=/earth/2007/08/29/eababy129.xml Honey, we hope that you are going to be okay...love you...Lea and ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``` RICE MILK I was reading a paper today and found an article on rice milk, they are saying that dangerous levels of ARSENIC are in 80% of the rice milks tested ???? Guest guest
Hi Lea, Sorry to hear your leg is not getting any better. I will go to my Drs but what help she will be I don’t know. I am ok though just fed up with it all, I will just have to work out what to eat for breakfast as I am so intolerant to everything. Any suggestions would be great…lol Its ridiculous the amount of rubbish in food, and I thought I was being healthy……duh. Guest guest
Sue,I can understand how frustrated you must be! . . . Could you use a flour mill to grind your own flour from foods that are safe? I saw where nuts and beans can be made into flour. . . Flour made from nuts is very high in calories - but you don't have to worry about that like I would! Can you eat the egg substitute? . . . Yeah . . it's mostly chemical, isn't it?Can you eat veggies grilled with coconut or olive oil?I'm doing much better today. If I'm as much better tomorrow, as I did since yesterday, I should be nearly back to myself - minus an earache!Love,Rogene
Guest guest
I just got this reply from Rice/Almond Dream: Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding our Almond Dream Original. We apologize for the delay in our reply and appreciate your patience. We strive to maintain the highest quality products and we appreciate your patronage. The Rice Dream items which bear the label " gluten free " or " made with gluten free ingredients " are formulated and tested to be gluten free (below the detectable limit of 10ppm). Analytical testing methods and detection limits have improved over the years. Recent testing shows that the Rice Dream Beverages (as well as the barley protein used to make the product) meet gluten free requirements. We have always maintained a conservative stance regarding gluten in the beverages. The same rigorous standards now allow us to declare them gluten free. The formula and processing methods for Rice Dream beverages have not changed. Each batch will be tested appropriately. The Almond Dream product is also subject to this same testing and has the " Gluten Free " triangle on its packaging. Thank you for your continued support. If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-434-4246, Monday through Friday from 7AM - 5PM Mountain Time. Sincerely, Hillary Consumer Relations Representative Ref # 1652906 > > Regarding Rice Dream: I do not trust it. Some boxes I have looked at say > gluten free. Guest guest
Mark, I am totally with you on this. Any product that actually uses a gluten-grain is automatically off my list. They can’t test every batch and that leaves open the possibility that a particular batch would be accidentally contaminated while the one they test is 10 ppm. I much prefer the Pacific brand (we like Pacific Select Soy). I buy it from the food co-op by the case. I wonder if there are any celiacs out there who use the Rice dream? It would be interesting to know if any sensitives have used this without getting sick. Pam Still, the fact remains that it has barley in it. That alone makes me not want to use it. They say it is safe, that it meets the standard (in fact below the standard to the point of the lowest detectable level). I will just continue to use a competitors product to insure that I am safe. Thanks again for going to the trouble and effort of getting the information. Mark
