Guest guest
Dr Ahn at Kaiser Santa Clara is the GI doctor who diagnosed my wife's CD. He has also worked with here in the six months since, but she has also seen a nutritionist ( ... something) who is familiar with the condition. My wife is happy with both. Is there a GI doctor in the Bay Area who works at Kaiser that we can recommend? "I am hoping that you might be able to point me to a Kaiser physician or specialist knowledgeable about celiac. My husband was diagnosed via biopsy prior to joining Kaiser, and we have not found any local Kaiser doctors who are familiar with the disease. He is willing to travel within the Kaiser network to find a good specialist." Thanks for any info. Susi

Guest guest
Hi Beatrice:The two names below are cut-and-pasted from a Kaiser Santa Clara site, specifically: http://www.permanente.net/homepage/kaiser/pages/d16943-54792.html Barbara Dodson, MS,RD,ILBC General Pediatric Nutrition Pediatric Nutrition Specialty: Celiac, Gastrointestinal, Weight Management Adult Nutrition Specialty: Celiac Contact Number: (408) 851-9898 Jordan, RD,CDE General Adult Nutrition Adult Nutrition Specialty: Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes, Eating Disorders, Heart Health, Weight Management Contact Number: (408) 851-2429 Jordan is the person my wife saw, but my wife says the nutritionist more focuses on diabetes.Barbara Dodson I've mentioned here before. She is the one who runs the quarterly (and, maybe, more often) CS meetings at Kaiser SC.Cheers, HogleFreelance academic librarianInstructor, online researchEmail: jjhogle@...Web: www.blueroom.comReality ain't what you think it isArt Graphics & Photographs[http://www.blueroom.com/realityaint.htm]----- Original Message ----From: Beatrice Garth <beagarth@...> Sent: Friday, June 20, 2008 11:31:05 AMSubject: Re: [ ] Celiac specialist in Kaiser network Thanks ,This certainly is great news about the Santa Clara Kaiser celiac specialist! Guest guest
Hi Susi, Here are two Kaiser adult GIs familiar with celiac: ine Mysliwiec at Kaiser Vallejo (http://www.permanente.net/homepage/kaiser/doctor/paulinemysliwiec/) and Doug Corley at Kaiser San Francisco (http://www.permanente.net/homepage/kaiser/doctor/douglascorley/) Dr. Mysliwiec presents Grand Rounds on celiac for our North Bay Celiac Disease Awareness Campaign. Dr. Corley volunteers as camp doctor at Celiac Camp and his son has celiac. They were both participants in the S.F. Gluten-Free Cooking Spree, too. I can't think of any doctors in the Kaiser network who research and publish on celiac. - > > Hi all, > > My husband received a request from a friend who's husband recently got diagnosed with CD. > Is there a GI doctor in the Bay Area who works at Kaiser that we can recommend? > > " I am hoping that you might be able to point me to a Kaiser physician or specialist > knowledgeable about celiac. Guest guest
Thanks so much . This should help my elderly mother quite a lot so she will take all this more seriously. Ditto with my sister the research nurse who has signs of celiac too (constant D, overly flexible and painful joints, depression, history of skin cancer etc. etc.) but chooses to ignore it and takes drugs instead.BeaFrom: j. hogle <jjhogle (DOT) com>Subject: Re: [ ] Celiac specialist in Kaiser network Date: Thursday, June 19, 2008, 12:01 AM Dr Ahn at Kaiser Santa Clara is the GI doctor who diagnosed my wife's CD.
