I always wonder with processed quinoa if they washed the stuff sufficiently or not.Have you tried eating regular quinoa grains and washing them several times first before cooking? They really are quite tasty and a good addition to pancakes and baked goods. However if not washed enough the grains have this stuff on the outside that is supposed to be harmful (to a small extent but noticeable) to humans. This could be happening to you.The other 2 possiblities is that you got CC'd with gluten due to less than purely gluten free practices transporting or producing the product. Or -- you just can't tolerate quinoa period. Trying the gf grain yourself (after washing til the water is clear) would be the easiest way to tell. I also don't do well with rice flour in general, especially if I have a lot of it or if I make the mistake of having rice often. But then maybe that's me.BeaMelita <leftcoastmelita@...>

Check that it wasn't processed in a facility that also processes wheat

or on equipment shared with wheat. Sometimes they put that

information in really tiny type nowhere near the ingredients list.

I've been glutened by both.

Was it the Quinoa pasta that is made with

corn? You could have had a reaction to that.

When quinoa first became popular many celiacs reacted to it.

There was suspicion that cross contamination was happening, but there is always

the possibility that, as with oats and canola, some celiacs are sensitive to

(or irritated by) quinoa as well as to wheat.

Has anyone had a reaction to quinoa?

I had some GF pasta made from it and I got sick. It is the only thing I can

think of that would have caused it as I had that with sauce.

But I also had an Amy's Organic rice crust GF pizza around that time too.

Whatever it was, it definitely upset my stomach.
