Converting recipes to be dairy free is pretty doable. Do you have a

recipe that you think looks good? I'd just substitute in your favorite

gluten-free flour blend for the flour and use a dairy free oil/fat and

substitute a dairy free milk (Rice, soy, almond) OR sparkling soda for

the milk. you can add a small amount of xanthan gum if desired.

Here is a nice cake recipe that is GF and

DF. Then you can add in the cocoa powder and food color to make it a

traditional red velvet cake. I’m not sure how to simulate the buttermilk

for DF, maybe the rice/soy milk + vinegar.

For my birthday in June, I'd really like a red velvet

cake. Problem

is that I'm both gluten AND dairy free, making it a difficult

project! Does anyone know of such a recipe? A google search has

yielded nothing.

, I would be happy to work on a recipe for you. I already have a vegan chocolate cake recipe so I could use that as a base. If you are interested, I will start doing some research. So you need gluten free and dairy free. Can you have eggs? How many people is the cake for and what date do you need it for? I am located in Saratoga. Would you be able to pick up the cake? I know this is a lot of questions. Maybe we should talk on the phone? My cell number is 408-887-6141. Dana" J. Stiavetti" <steph@...> wrote: That would be amazing, Dana!
