Crepes Café in Menlo Park – update and soup base

I just had lunch again at Crepes Café and met the owner, Nick. He

investigated the soup base he uses for his soups, and it is gluten-

free. It does have a soy base, however, for those of you who are

allergic or sensitive to soy. I am so looking forward to trying his

tomato soup and his cream of mushroom soup.

I really emphasize to him how important it is to school his cooks and

staff about cross contact issues and to be sure that they use the

correct crepe machines for the correct batter. Also, I really urged

him to get separate water containers for the two different spatulas.

In the meantime if you dine there, just be sure to tell the staff to

use a clean spatula for your buckwheat crepe.

As always, eating out is risky.
