Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I don't often reply to these, but have been trying to learn by listening. I TOTALLY appreciate the idea below, of "if more people went in asking for gf food...". Here's my problem...I am self conscious because I don't want to be so high maintanance, or get into a conversation where people don't understand what I am saying (particularly in ethnic restaurants where there is a language barrier). I live in Danville, would someone who is really comfortable asking for gf food like to go out to dinner with me and teach me how to get it done???? ----- Original Message ----From: "TrVerb@..." <TrVerb@...> Sent: Wednesday, June 4, 2008 12:19:19 PMSubject: [ ] Sangha, Glen Park, San Francisco.. Just wanted to let you know I ate at this restaurant (on Chenery by Diamond Street) the other night, and though a good deal of their menu was off limits because of the soy sauce, they were extremely interested in hearing about celiac disease. Some things they buy premade, but anything they make right there they will use your own gf soy sauce for -- they made me a special tuna tartare with my gf tamari. They even told me they would look into buying some to keep in their restaurant. If more people went in asking for gf food, I am sure they would consider making more of their food with gf soy sauce. They also were great at using clean bowls & utensils, etc - they seemed to totally get the cross-contamination issue. And since the kitchen is mostly open, I could see they were doing as promised. The food was delicious, by the way. (My kids love the teriyaki salmon - sadly, not gf - yet!)Tristan************ **Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. Guest guest
If you haven't gotten them already, get Triumph Dining Cards to take with you. They describe your needs in many languages. You can get them at Gluten Free Mall, and probably other places, as well. --- Lombardi <tanya_lombardi@...> wrote: > Hello Everyone, I don't often reply to these, but > have been trying to learn by listening.
