Guest guest
I've reviewed the archives and just want to make sure that I'm getting this right.....because I'm feeling the same anxiety that I used to feel when I was in jr and high school math class..... I've been using the complete Nordic Naturals Omega 3-6-9 Now, I'm beginning to add the Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega (which is highly concentrated EPA and DHA) In the archives, it mentions adding the EPA after six months or so, but nothing about the DHA part. So, if I keep a 2:1 ratio of these oils (i.e. 2 Complete Omega 3-6-9 to 1 Ultimate Omega), is this the recommended mix for apraxia? And then, increasing the dosage along the way..... I feel like I should have " gotten this " by now -- sorry. _________________________________________________________________ Climb to the top of the charts! Guest guest
Hi ! In the archives we used to raise the dosage over months -but now people raise the dosage much sooner and don't wait until there is a plateau. In history the high DHA doesn't work well for just about anyone's child to see a dramatic surge -but as we know there are exceptions. Also if you want to see more of a surge with a high DHA you have to do very high dosages -which again is why not to use the cod liver oil due to the natural vitamin A found in fish oils made from the liver of the fish. CLO tends to be higher in DHA. While the Omega 369 is comparable in formula to the ProEFA- Ultimate Omega is not the right commercial formula that is equivalent to the ProEPA. Here's the formula of EPA and DHA in the ProEPA to give you an idea of how much higher it is in EPA and lower in DHA then the one you are using. Ultimate Omega per 2 capsules EPA 650 DHA 450 ProEPA per 2 capsules EPA 850 DHA 200 As you can see -the EPA is much higher in ProEPA. You'd be better off using ProEFA and coromega then what you are using as we typically don't want to raise the Omega 3 that much higher than a 5/1 ratio over the omega 6 -unless you use EPA. Also...more is not always better. If you are using the right formula and dosage and then throw cod liver oil on top of that for health reasons -you've changed the formula and you probably won't see much of a surge. For anyone not seeing changes on the right formula -are you also using CLO too? If you check the archives once the CLO is stopped you should see the surges. I've been told that EPA is a much more expensive oil than the DHA due to the processing it takes to make it. They may all stink like fish - but fish oils are for sure not the same! =====
