Guest guest
Edmark is wonderful! Mav has used it since he was in 1st grade. He's on program 2. My foster daughter has used it for a year now and is way into program 1. It teaches sight words on the computer and then has corresponding worksheets to go with it. At the end of each section there are little stories that go with it using only the sight words that they have learned so far. They can go at their own pace.. going through each step. Later on they add spelling words to it.
Guest guest
Last year when this thread went around, lots of moms were strongly recommending the Edmark reading program so I got s resource teacher to get it for . She has used it now going on her second year. Lots of repeatitive reading which works for our kids special needs. Then for writing, we use Handwriting Without Tears which has been a God send for . She fought wrtitng before Handwriting without tears. is in the second grade and I plan to have use these programs. They work. from California

Guest guest
Add me to the list of believers for Handwriting Without Tears. 's handwriting has improved 100% in the past year. I can't speak on Edmark - is just now being introduced to that. Guest guest
Handwriting Without Tears is apparently so good that they have decided to use it as the regular kindergarten writing program this year. I went to 's IEP last May, with my list of programs to consider, and the Resource teacher told me that ALL the kindergarteners would be doing HWT this year. Pretty cool. , mom to (7), (5 DS), and (4) > > From: " " <cindysue@...> > Date: 2003/09/20 Sat PM 09:16:39 EDT > < >, <Michdock@...> > Subject: Re: Edmark Reading Program > > Add me to the list of believers for Handwriting Without Tears. Guest guest
Hi all, My daughter just started the Edmark Reading program today. Her teacher told me she already had to bump her up 7 lessons. (the same little girl with the low/boarderline IQ) I am not sure what that means exactly. Is anyone familiar with this program. I know it is a combination of a sight and phonetic skill program. Thanks Dawn in NJ
