Guest guest
I was told by the person we see at Dr. N's office that around a year is when you really start seeing good things. My son has done well on MB12 and each time we had a consult she would tell me " and we're not even to the year mark yet!!! " We just hit the year mark at the end of last month and we continue to see nice things. My son was verbal when we started, but mostly single words or very small phrases. Although he's not yet conversational he comes out with some fairly long questions or declarative statements. I joked when we were in for our physical last month. My son saw Dr. Neubrander and asked " who's that? " I told him, " That's Dr. Neubrander. He's the reason you talk so much now, and some days I'm not sure if I should thank him or not. " My son talks/sings all day long. This time last year he only spoke when asked a question (if he answered) or spoke only when he had to in single words or small phrases. He talks all day but like I said he's not conversation. He has some scripiting, some repetitive question asking, and sometimes sings or babbles to himself about whatever he is playing with. We see improvement all the time so I am convince that the improvements from MB12 are still coming. Guest guest
Hi Amy, This would really depend on how much of a responder to MB12 your child is, all kids respond to things at their own pace or possibly not at all. Some kids do really well with MB12 (most need either Folic or Folinic Acid with it), others don't do so well. Ours responds to MB12 in very low doses, if we give higher doses he gets hyper and weepy, so we don't give much. We do give LOTS of EFA's and also do GFCF (eliminate milk of any kind). Our son was verbal, but not in a way that would be described as conversational, now he jabbers on and on. Good Luck ! Guest guest
Kerrie, how nice to hear of your son's improvement! You sounded so discouraged this summer, good to hear that you are seeing results. Rene > > >. For a child that was previously verbal, how long before you will see what maximum gains he/she w/ill achieve? After increasing oral B12 with good effects, I started n on nasal spray B12. He did well for a few weeks but last week started regressing. I've dropped him back to basic supps without B12, and he's slowly coming out of it. High-dose B12 isn't for everyone. Guest guest
I have a limited understanding of MB12 and wanted to ask a question. As I understand it, at least some of our kids cannot process MB12 via their impaired guts so shots, the nose spray, provide their bodies with this another way. I have heard stories where kids with writing difficulties freed up their hands, etc. I am curious if it is not just gut impairment but yeast that impedes the MB12 from getting where it needs to be in some kids? Anyone know?
Guest guest
Increase yeast or stir up existing yeast? I saw yeast with multis with b12. I figured that was because has mentioned some of the Bs are grown in mold I think. But the B12 my kids are getting is from a food source. I realize that does not guarantee it to be mold- free but I think you get why I am questioning this. Not to mention the gains I have seen since adding this food. Nuts. > > > > I have a limited understanding of MB12 and wanted to ask a question. > As > > I understand it, at least some of our kids cannot process MB12 via > their > > impaired guts so shots, the nose spray, provide their bodies with > this > > another way. Guest guest
Liz, You have to get rid of excess yeast before starting MB12. That is what we did. And we use the MB12 drops. I am happy we have drops because it is not a needle and we can give him a little at a time. if you recall we had a rough time starting too high. Guest guest
I see your point. A local friend is doing shots and things are not going well. Makes me nervous for her. Perhaps yeast is a part of that story. > > Liz, > > You have to get rid of excess yeast before starting MB12. That is what we > did. And we use the MB12 drops. Guest guest
Definetely. You dont just start the shots, you need guidance and more guidance, each kid is so different!
