She was crying a lot and couldn't sleep, because her ears hurt so much. So we put her on antibiotics, because I really didn't know what else to do. Ohhh Becky (nice name by the way lol) Put her on acidopholus right away-- and that will help greatly reduce the possibilities of her getting a yeast infection. There's so much out there-- but any health food store would have something that you can use for her that's easily given (aka sometimes some kids don't like tablets) About the ears-- this is something I have GREAT experience with. We no longer give antibiotics with things either. If it's something that is absolutely necessary, we don't. After many years of research with ear infections, I feel confident never taking meds for those and totally going homeopathic-- which is where we've been for almost 8 yrs now (and 4 kids without meds for ear infections) We use GARLIC OIL to treat any ear problems. Yes, I'm quite serious! At the health food store, they sell little bottles with droppers included, and you can either get straight garlic oil and there are other brands that have eucalyptus in the garlic oil as well. Garlic, as we all know by now, is a great NATURAL anti-viral, anti-biotic, and anti-fungal. If you notice signs of your child starting with the ear issues, simply grab the garlic oil and put a couple of drops in that ear a few times each day. Once a child is diagnosed with an ear infection-- this is ALSO the way you can treat her without the use of the meds. Just as simple-- a few drops in the infected ear a few times a day for usually 7-10 days. We've always had the ear infections disappear with this method-- Dr approved an everything! In the beginning of this ear adventure with my almost 9 yr old son, the Drs were HUGELY skeptical, and so was I honestly, but we made the decision and each time one of the kids has an ear infection we will get it diagnosed and they know we'll skip the meds (they no longer even prescribe it for them) and we monitor the progress with the garlic oil and it's been 100% effective!!! EVERY TIME with EVERY INFECTION. The Drs have now told other patients of this if their children have recurring ear infections, they suggest trying something natural Becky **************It's Tax Time! Guest guest
Hi Becky, Definitely love your name! Thanks for the ear infection information. Luckily she hasn't had an ear infection in two years. I actually thought she wouldn't get them anymore (since she's off dairy too). My daughter, , who has apraxia hasn't gotten one, since she went dairy-free. I did start giving Maggie some homeopathic drops (for colds and flus) when she got sick. But when she got the ear infection, I didn't know what to do. I will try the garlic oil next time and the acidopholus now. Thanks again! Take care, The other Becky > > > In a message dated 3/3/2008 2:40:26 P.M. Guest guest
I take my son to a chiropractor. We've been doing this since he was six months old. Whenever he's sick, we make a special appointment so that the chiropractor can make sure that the ears drain (or whatever). We've loved it. Apparently the chiropractic care helps with overall immunity.

Guest guest
I don't know exactly what he does for the ears, but he just checks his alignment, glands and makes appropraite adjustments. I think he may massage under the ear area sometimes. My son's only had one ear infection (at around 8 months after his flu shot). After that, I've always taken him in for regular visits to the chiropractor. He's not had an ear infection since. I take him about twice a month for regular/routine visits, and more if he's sick. He charges $20 per visit. When my son is sick, I try to take him that day. The adjustment typically makes him spike a fever, but the chiropractor said that's normal.....it helps with the healing process. @...: lizlaw@...: Tue, 4 Mar 2008 12:32:11 +0000Subject: Re: [ ]yeast/Becky milk and other Becky making connections Can you tell me what he does for the ears?>> I take my son to a chiropractor. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. Hubby has a cousin who is a chiro and promised to send me info on what it could do for kids like my son but I never heard. It makes sense since some friends with special needs kids have had luck with craniosacral therapy. I have taken to giving massages to my kids. My daughter actually asks for them. The fact that my son, who was previously so sensitive to touch, can tolerate them is a huge win for us. I actually bought a $10 reflexology kit from the bookstore for guidance as I can't afford craniosacral therapy at this point. All of this is ironic as in my past I spent 8 years investigating a number of chiros. These guys were different though....they had paper patients:) >> I take my son to a chiropractor. Guest guest
Is this regular chiropractic care, or is Cranial Sacral Therapy? in NJ >> I take my son to a chiropractor. Guest guest
This is regular chiropractic care. He's the standard chiropractor and treats people of all ages (infants to the elderly). With the young, as well as the elderly clients, he doesn't do the harsh adjustments or anything. He just puts my son on his lap and gently manipulates him. He also uses the clicking instrument. I wasn't sure if it was working or not, until one day I realized that my son had only one ear infection, at the age of eight months old, and that was before chiropractic care. With that, I felt that it was worth continuing.
