Subject: Re: : Welcome to . Visit today!

Help! I tried to register but it kept telling me the confirmation code was

wrong. I am very confused after reading the threads. I am now having doubts

about my 2 year old's autism after reading about apraxia. He doesn't have

classic autistic traits but does have low tone and sensory issues. Between 1 and

2 he had a few words but has since lost them. During this time he has 3 ear

infections and a slight hearing loss in one ear. He had deep wax impaction in

one ear as well. He now as tubes in and adenoids out, is being evaluated by

geneticists for possible metabolic disorder. The child has been through the

wringer. We have varying opinions from specialists on his autism. Some think he

is, others do not. When I asked my SPL about dyspraxia, she said she didn't

think he had it. What are the signs? He is very verbal, but you can't understand

anything. Do you know of any specialist in the Atlanta area that can make an

apraxia diagnosis?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

Donna Whaley

Zimet is currently working with my daughter in Atlanta. If I could even

attempt to put in words what she has done for my daughter it would not come

close to expressing how wonderful she is. Feel free to e-mail directly and I

can get you in touch with her. I have also seen a very good developmental

pediatrician, Dr. Alan Weintraub.
