Guest guest
Jill, I have a simple answer for you. :0) It is a " boy thing " . I have 3 girls (22, 11, 10) and two boys (5-apraxia, and nearly 2). They are much different than my girls and are very loud, rambunctious (did I spell that correctly?), and full of energy. And the younger one does not take omegas. The 5 year-old was that way before the Omegas. > > > > Hey Everyone > > > > We had an updated IEP meeting last week for DS 3 (spd/ssd/speech > > delay) and it went very well. Guest guest
Thanks That is a great point. If his articulation was ok I would not even be questioning his speech - it is soooooo bad. Singing Elmo's potty time today was " ymmmemmo otteee kquimmme " if that makes sense!! But then someone on TV said Amazing today and clear as a bell he yells " AMAZING!! " Classic apraxia, able to say some things perfectly - bu then won't hear it again for a while. But the Potty Training is going great!!! Thanks, Jill > > > > > > Hey Everyone > > > > > > We had an updated IEP meeting last week for DS 3 (spd/ssd/speech > > > delay) and it went very well. Guest guest
I think that Mark originally started speaking LOUDLY because he realized that other kids could understand him better and his speech issues were in disguise..... amazing how they know real young that their speech is off! But we ended up remediating the loud talking via The Listening Program which works auditory tonal processing. For articulation, your boy sounds like he has dysarthria, or muscle weakness in his mouth? Have you thought about having oral motor therapy done with him? It works great with weak muscles and articulation. Janice Mother of Mark, 14 [ ] Re: Speech - Squealing and talking LOUD! Thanks That is a great point.
