Guest guest
I do not have an answer to your question for a speech therapist in the Tampa area, but we have a really good one where we live and it has helped with my boys speech. I also wanted to let you know that I, too, have 4 year old twins with autism and sensory issues. If you ever want to e-mail me and just share with some one else who is going through the same thing, my e-mail address is danamichellepope@... They not only had no speech but also eat very few food items, especially my son. He only eats bread with butter or peanut butter regularly in addition to candies, candies and cookies. Our DAN doctor mentions that some speech therapists who are also feeding specialists may be able to help. Do any one know how to locate such a specialist in the Tampa area? Thanks. Guest guest
If you email the prompt institute http://www.promptinstitute.org with zip codes, they can give you names of PROMPT certified slps in your area. Ernie is the contact. Guest guest
My 2.9 yo son has sensory issues also. The hardest one to deal with is with food. There are Occupational Therapists that are specially trained in food therapy. If you have a children's hospital near you that would be a good place to start. You could even call your local early intervention and ask them for a list of OT's that they use. My son's OT does food therapy with him, but it has been a very long and slow road! Good Luck!
