I have heard things about ultrasounds, but it doesn't apply to my

apraxic daughter.

We had SEVERAL with #1, as my OB had an US machine in his office. I

cringe, because I got one nearly every visit. She was normal. Her only

speech issue was that she called Fruit Snacks " Coo Conks " until she

was 4, haha...

With #2, I had heard about all the " evils " of ultrasounds.. I had had

a miscarriage between the two, so I *needed* to see her... I think we

had about 3-4, because we moved out of state and switched doctors a

few times. We finally decided to have her at home, and of course, this

is the reason my family chooses to believe she has it. I hear it ALL

the time about how if we would have just had her in the hospital.

(It's pretty awesome to get blamed when you already blame yourself...)

I would think it was because she had jaundice, but so did her sister.

She has not been vaccinated, so i cannot blame it on that...

So, honestly, nothing really applies to my kiddo...

I am thinking it may have something to do with autoimmune disorders. I

keep hearing people talking about having AI issues, with kiddos who

have autism or apraxia. My sister has an AID, and my niece is almost

3. Her speech reminds me of my daughter's. I think it is too much of a

coincidence that both of our kiddos have disordered speech. (Both of

my parents and sisters have AI issues. I am the only one not

diagnosed, but have symptoms and cannot find a Dr. to diagnose me.)

Maybe SOME kids are more susceptible to disorders, and that we as

parents ought to stop blaming ourselves... Of course, if we would have

known the cause, we would have done things differently... :o)
