Guest guest
Well, my husband spoke with the insurance, ready to put up a fight and it turns out they do cover speech up to 30 visits a year, so less than once a week. This changed 1st of the year and since we've been going since November, we were denied then. Anyway, instead of trying to get reimbursed for the sessions in the past, we want to do 2 sessions a week. I spoke with the facility that we go to and they said when they having an opening, they'll put her in. This whole time I thought it was an opening with her current SLP. Well, we were given a slot on Mondays. Again, I assumed it was with her current SLP. Turns out, it's someone else. Her SLP came out and introduced us, I was so confused, I don't even remember the new SLP's name said she had experience with Apraxia, etc. After the session was over, we spoke and I just don't know. She kept talking about my daughter being " distracted " and maybe it was because they were in a different room, etc. Said she would ask my SLP what kind of chair she puts sits her in, because she kept wanting to get up. My daughter just turned 3. She's not going to " sit " for any long period of time. I know she was working with the Kaufman cards with her and I guess she wanted her to " sit " for this. What do you think? Should I continue with the 2 different therapists or should I just wait it out until our current SLP can see her 2x a week? I feel like I just don't want to waste the 2x a week since insurance is covering. HELP!!
