Guest guest
My son was dx with apraxia at 28mths. He is now 5 years old and his speech has improved a lot. One of my concerns for him is that he is ALWAYS sick! Coughing, runny nose etc. If there is an illness going around he will catch it. Anyway..... my daughter has some food allergies (we found out about 8mths ago). Recently I started to suspect that my son too might have some mild food allergies so we had him tested at The Great Plains Laboratory. I just got the results, I AM SHOCKED. Turns out he has MORE food allergies than my daughter! His numbers are through the roof! Obviously we are going to change his diet, but I'm wondering if any of your children's motor planning/speech improved with the diet? I wonder if the the food sensitivity has anything to do with my sons apraxia and his weak immune system? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks! --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make your homepage.
Guest guest
Okay..... We need to combine posts! I just wrote a post on this in response to " Got ELISA results back - What now? " I think that this is a HUGE problem now that I have gotten rid of most of the dyspraxia and when we regress..... it HAS to be from sensitivities! I am on full attack mode on this and it is not just the food but the 'everything'. Most importantly is that rotten substance called MSG! It should be banned it is so bad for our children..... We have changed up our water processes, have changed up our cooking tools, have changed up our cleaning products..... have an infrared sauna on order, are doing oral DMSA to get rid of the lead and the mercury and are in full attack mode against all environmental 'garbage' in our house! Guest guest
My son's weekly to biweekly " illnesses " cleared up when we removed his food triggers. It has been ages since we went to the ped. He was asking the other day to go because he " missed " seeing her. This winter is the first one he wasn't nebbed 2x day with major steroids. - -- In , " Janice " <jscott@...> wrote: > > Okay..... > > We need to combine posts! Guest guest
Just tossing in here - Josh as allergies to MSG (and I'm sure you know it goes by a whole lot of other names) and cherries. Watching the MSG helped immensely with sensory issues. But, what has really helped is doing away with store-bought cleaning products. I started making my own about three or four years ago now. Before I switched, Josh was on Claritin, Flovent 2x's daily, Proventil 2x's daily, and would get respiratory problems that required the nebbie with albuterol. Since switching (and part of it could also just be his system is maturing as well) - he's off everything except one puff of Flovent in the a.m. and doc thinks he doesn't even really need that. Amazing. Sherry and Josh mommyz7 <t_r_z@...> wrote: My son's weekly to biweekly " illnesses " cleared up when we removed his food triggers. It has been ages since we went to the ped.
