My son had a lot of oppositional issues, and by the age of three, he was pretty

much out of control. I was overwhelmed, exhausted and heartbroken. Biomed

helped him. He's a completely different child.

with ODD?

I would like to know if anyone has ever dealt with ODD. My husband and I think

our son may have it. Just need more info if anyone has any.[Non-text portions of

Is your son acting out due to frustration at not being understood by

others? I read in one of your previous post that you have introduced a

few signs to him. Have you looked at Signing Times both on TV and on

DVDs from your library? Kids love it, they pick up the signs very

quickly and parents learn as well. Sign language helps to reduce

frustration and is one way to communicate as verbal speech is being

worked on. Another tool other parents use is the PECS system, or even

making a simple notebook with pictures. Some copy pictures of sign

language drawings and words and use that. Your speech pathologist is

someone who can help you come up with a device that is best for your

son's needs. We've all have been there with our kids going through

extreme meltdowns and behavior issues because no one can understand

what they want. I strongly encourage you to look into sign language or

some kind of augementative device to relieve that stress.
