Thank you!

Hi guys! Here is an email I've sent out to family, friends, teachers, and

fitness professional regarding Project ACES. If you can please read it and

pass the information along to any teachers, especially Physical Education

teachers (they are the ones who usually step up and organize ACES for their

school), I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi Everyone!

I'm writing you in regards to the 2009 Project ACES day. ACES is an acronym

for All Children Exercise Simultaneously, and I am the New Jersey State

Coordinator for Project ACES this year. As many of you know, I am now a

personal trainer and a Spin instructor, but my real passion is children's

fitness. I teach several Teen Spin classes and also developed and instruct

developmentally appropriate group fitness classes for young children. The

energy and excitement that comes from these children is limitless. America's

kids are begging to be active!

About Project ACES:

Each May, millions of school children all over the world exercise

simultaneously in a symbolic gesture of fitness, health, and unity. This

free, non-competitive program is an educational, motivational, and fun way

to promote exercise and physical activity among today's youth. ACES takes

place on the first Wednesday in May as part of National Physical Fitness and

Sports Month, as well as National Physical Education Week.

This year ACES is being held on Wednesday, May 6th 2009 at 10:00am. As a

former teacher, a personal trainer, a children's fitness enthusiast, and a

woman who was once an overweight child, this day is close to my heart. I

believe that spreading awareness about healthy, fun activity is about much

more than getting kids moving. Project ACES also brings attention to the

prevalence of childhood obesity, heart disease, type II diabetes and other

life threatening disease that plague America's youth. Project ACES serves

as an example of community, leadership, and most importantly, respect for

ourselves, both inside and out.

I am reaching out to all of you because I know you are teachers, educators,

parents, and caretakers that want the best for our children. I am asking

you to join in the fun and become part of a world-wide phenomenon and day of

health awareness. On May 6th, all children will exercise. they will either

walk, jog, jump-rope, bike, do aerobics, dance, or participate in some

combination of these exercises. Each school organizes its own participation

assembly that runs from 15 to 45 minutes. There are no strict rules or

specific routines to follow; just get the kids up and moving!

I have attached an informational flyer that you may use to help promote

Project ACES at your school and in your community. Please also visit the

New Jersey's Project ACES website at http://nj.projectaces.com. The global

Project ACES website is http://www.lensaunders.com/aces/aces.html. Both

sites will provide you with additional ACES history and information, allow

you to register your school for the event, and give you access to free ideas

and promotional material to help your school get started with Project ACES.

I look forward to hearing about your May 6th 2009 Project ACES Day success!
