Guest guest
I believe it was because their religion(Scientology) does not believe in medical intervention & that if Jett studies the religion more he can be cured that way. Travolta, I believe, he was in denial as far as his son being Autistic. In a message dated 1/3/2009 10:33:02 A.M. You can tell he has something going on. Why didn't they try to do something like McCarthy and raise awareness. I'm not saying they were wrong or anything like that. Just wondering why is all. Famous people can help causes so much. I feel so bad for them. I can't even imagine what they are going through. **************New year...new news. Be the first to know what is making headlines. Guest guest
Nobody here knows them. Their child died. For those of you that have children that have seizures you know that accidents during a seizure are nobody's fault and what happened to their child is anyone's worst nightmare! I don't think we should either put celebrities on a pedestal or feel just because we see them in a movie or read about them in People magazine we have the right to judge them based on public information. If they were judged in a court of law that would be different and they are not. I wish I could express to them my heartfelt sympathy. I have no idea the horror they are going through right now -and thankfully very few of us ever will. I personally find it a bit disgusting that during their morning they have to be under any form of " attack " Shame on us as a society for feeling it so necessary to diagnose every child with autism that we even have to go after those that died 'supposedly' undiagnosed with autism! The child had a diagnosis, Kawasaki. -but guess that's not good enough today. " Allegations of autism " -when will everyone wake up to how crazy this has become! Travolta son to have autopsy amid autism allegations " The couple's lawyer Marty Singer bluntly rejected the claims. " The Travoltas are wonderful, loving parents, and their priority is their children, " he said. " They have (taken) and they continue to take the best possible care of their children. To suggest anything to the contrary is very hurtful to a loving family and also would be false and defamatory. Guest guest
I also feel that it really doesn't matter whether the child had a diagnosis or not. He died. He is their precious child. Who cares about their denial or whatever. Even if he did have a different diagnosis than Kawasaki, it doesn't matter. My nephew struggles with a seizure disorder and he can luckily " feel " then coming on, but not always. He has fallen many times. This boy, Jett, had a seizure and fell. That could have happened with his parents in the room with him. Sometimes there is nothing that could have been done to prevent such things. I think we want there to be something that COULD have been done, so that we don't have to face the fact that we escape these tragedies by luck or fate or whatever you want to call it. It could happen to any of us. Just try to treasure your own children and hope that this family can somehow have the strength to go through the rest of their lives without him. This is terrible.
