Guest guest
Hi -I wanted to let you know that I have been talking to the facilitator of my PBS reading readers online class who is very interested in apraxia and the learning processes we use to help our kids like the Kaufman tx kit. She has told me that we can help a lot of kids by using the methods I have learned about here. She was also amazed that she had never heard of apraxia. She is very interested and hasalso checked out some of the websites. **************Need a job? Find an employment agency near you. Guest guest
Thought since we are on the topic of pregnancy (!) we can talk about something I thought everyone here would have great interest in seeing. I was on a conference call the other day with a number of others listening to a talk by Dr. Theo Colborn, President, The Endocrine Disruption Exchange (TEDX) and Professor, University of Florida, Gainsville, Dr. Carol Kwiatkowski, Executive Director, The Endocrine Disruptor Exchange (TEDX) and Dr. Pete Myers, CEO, Environmental Health Sciences. The following tool - " Critical Windows of Development " which is monumental -was introduced. I will probably have to explain how to work it and have to run -but just wanted to share the basic information. In a nutshell -as many of us (including me) suspected, the rise in the conditions we are seeing today- including autism -but also including diabetes etc. are not all separate and appear to be linked to environmental aspects. Many of you know I wrote about this in 2003 http://www.cherab.org/news/Save.html Here is general information about the timeline: http://www.endocrinedisruption.com/prenatal.criticalwindows.overview.php Here is the timeline that took over a decade to develop! http://www.criticalwindows.com/go_display.php There are plans to add more toxins to this chart. It's highly sophisticated in that each triangle will show studies -you can choose one or more toxins -or remove all toxins. You can see what is developing in comparison to what areas are being affected. As one government granter added after seeing this -we can also see from this chart what areas need to be studied more (lack of studies) I just went to the exhibit for the Science Tunnel this past weekend http://www.sciencetunnel.com/ and in part of the exhibit they were saying how similar the genes of the rat/mice are to humans and how we can learn from this. The above timeline is done with rat and mice studies -but compares it to human trimesters in pregnancy. Please ask any questions about the chart and I will try to answer what I can from what I learned. Also feel free to share this with whomever you feel will also find this of great interest. =====
