We tried it but it but saw no changes and it made my son CRAZY hyper, even

giving w/folinic acid did not curb that. I know parents who have seen success

with DMG with spontaneous language and conversational as well.

Sumida,

My is son is not diagnosed apraxic. He is autistic and ahe is 29 months, non

verbal and lots of sensory issues. We just started MB1 shots. Do you think this

is good to use. I am worried abt side effects.

We tried DMG with Tyler, and he experienced no positive or negative

effects. Our DAN doctor said that this could indicate that either he

is a non-responder OR would respond better to TMG. We have the TMG

on hand, but haven't tried it yet. Other priorities right now...

Not sure, but I actually think DMG is more effective for kids with

autism than kids with apraxia. Not many people here have tried it

though, so that is probably a contributing factor to the stats.

Results seem decidely mixed anyway -- some DAN doctors swear by it, and

some haven't seen much come of it.

There is some overlap with the benefits of the mB12 shots. Both help

the methylation cycle, etc., but both have different, other benefits as

well. The shots have a much bigger " fan base " , so I would give those

time to work first. They have been great for us, which is why we are

not so jazzed up to try TMG.

The MB12 initially had an affect where we noticed more babbling but overall it

has really helped with my son's awareness of the world around him. It has

helped curb his meltdowns and he became so affectionate and responsive to us.

It does make him hyper but we noticed a big difference in his behaviors when we

stopped the shots for a few weeks....he was tantrumming and prone to meltdowns

several times a day... much like he was before we started MB12. We are now

back on the shots and he is doing much better.

So you are using both MB12 and DMG?

We stopped the DMG. It had no effect and caused extreme hyperactivity. My son

has autism an apraxia and the only thing so far that has seemed to impact his

speech at all was B12. He gets injections every 72 hours and by the end of

that time we notice his approximations are a bit more sloppy.

We DMG, TMG and MB12 shots and nothing helped with my son's language

other than pure old Speech Therapy. We did do the DMG and MB12 shots

together and it made him hyper where he wouldn't settle down for his

usual nap so our DAN at the time cut back to dose of MB12 shots. We

have been off of MB12 shots for about 4 months now and it didn't make

a difference in our son that we noticed.
