Simply - a group of Dr.s all over the country focusing on the current

childhood epidemics (including apraxia). As with all professionals -

there are good and not so good. A good DAN! is active learning,

speaking, researching, attending conferences and see only kids with

the current childhood epidemics. They hear your concerns, childs'

history, test and interpret tests a bit differently than someone who

has not been concentrating on the new childhood epidemics.

From my experience, you will know when it's time to find a DAN! Dr

and you may never choose to hire one. It's all good, and it's

wonderful to have choices.

I am new at looking into the whole DAN! thing, so maybe others can

answer better. DAN stands for Defeat Autism Now! There are DAN's and

DAN doctors. A DAN doctor has a medical degree and a regular DAN does

not. From what I am learning they usually specialize in treating

neurologcally impaired biomedically, especially autistic children. This

would be treatments like GFCF diet, they also believe in reducing

exposure to toxins, cleansing the body of toxins and supplementing with

herbal supps. Thats the gistfrom how I understand so far, but like I

said I am new in this area myself. Hope that helps.
