Maddie had SI therapy with a woman who is a GENUIS (EVERY OT Maddie ever had has always said to me... " YOU take Maddie to JEANETTA????? " They ALL know of her) and we did lots of deep pressure stuff. We did vibrators and TONS of floortime, but never used a weighted blanket. Maddie's OT says it works well with Maddie. I'll let you know if I get enough motivation to make one myself. I've made some sensory stuff myself in the past. One of the things Jeanetta used in her sessions were these two giantic pillows (I'm talking 9 feet by 4). We would do swing, or climb and crash into them. Maddie adored it!!! So I made one. A local material place gave me all the foam for free. I actually cut it up into 4 by 6 block sizes with my electric knife....LOLOL And I also made one of the rug-covered rolling barrels you see in SI magazines. Someone gave me a construction barrel, I bought rug mats (like the ones they use in nursery schools for circle time) and glued them to it, then used roof tubing for the ends of it. She loved that one too. It cost me 17 bucks----the one in the magazine was $450!!!!!!! Donna

I don't even have curtains in my upstairs bathroom yet. Been living here 5 years. And I took sewing lessons. HA Motivation must be the key. Even my Dad told me to get some curtains. He only visits twice a year. The walls are still cream/beige and all the neighbors have repainted at least once. I hope I don't have to keep up with the cyber space moms. But believe me, it takes quite some time to get around to things!!! And we've said before on this list, we love having company, cause then the house gets cleaned!!! LOL No company here this week and Duff's away on business til Monday---so all has gone to pot!!! LOL Donna
Guest guest
Hey Chris.....I have saved this e-mail and was finally going to print it off....and guess what the web site isn't there anymore! Do you by chance have a copy of the instructions??? - C.Mom to Cassie 16 PCOS, Austin 14 ADHD and a 3.5 HFA/AS & SPD/SID ( ) Needed - weighted blanket and vest My 7 1/2yr ds is in desperate need of a weighted blanket and/or vest. The irony of it is that when he was young he hated the vest (which I purchased for him about 5 years ago) and a few months ago I gave the vest away, figuring he would never use it. Joke's on me, cause just the other night he asked me if we could take out the vest because he wanted the pressure on him and asked if there was a way to make a blanket that way!! I did tell him I gave the vest away but would try to find him a new one... so if anyone has either of these items you would be willing to donate or even sell, PLEASE let me know.Thank you! Guest guest
Hello, My dd, who will be 3 in a few days, does not sleep through the night. I am considering trying a weighted blanket to see if that will help. Does anyone have any particular kind or brand you liked? I would prefer an organic one. thanks. tara --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search. Guest guest
Hi Tara, I found the weighted blankets really expensive, so I made my own. Tube socks filled with beans(I bought a 50 lb bag!) and sewn in between 2 blankets. responds really well to weight so this worked great!
