Hi Dana:

Below you don't mention how much of what you are giving to your boys--

how many capsules/tsps are they on for ProEFA and ProEPA? Has it

helped with speech? Your question was if you should drop the CLO and

just try the ProEFA and ProEPA? Why do you give the CLO? If you

could do without it, you could drop it and try just the ProEFA and

ProEPA formula and see if it makes a difference. You could keep a

diary of gains or losses and that might help you figure it out. If

you decide to drop the CLO and do just the ProEFA and ProEPA, I

suggest you to try to figure out how much EPA and DHA you will lose

with the CLO and adjust the ProEFA or ProEPA so you don't lose ground

in the beginning. Below are the amounts for EPA, DHA, and GLA based

on formula of 2 ProEFA and 1 ProEPA.

ProEFA

Two 1000 mg Soft Gels Contain:

EPA: 270 mg

DHA: 180 mg

Other Omega-3s: 115 mg

GLA: 66 mg

OA: 160 mg

Vitamin E: 30 IU

ProEPA

One 1000 mg Soft Gels Contain:

EPA: 425 mg

DHA: 100 mg

Other Omega-3s: 90 mg

Vitamin E: 15 IU

CLO in May of 2007 with immediate results in increased eye contact.

However, I did not introduced the Pro EFA and Pro EPA until November

of 2007 and they were already on the CLO.  So, that changes the whole

formula and may have an impact on whether or not they repsond to the

fish oil?  I wonder if I need to try the ProEFA and ProEPA without

the CLO for a time?  Thanks for sharing this info.

I was going to post a question about how to transition off of CLO and onto

ProEFA and ProEPA. My son (21 months) is on 1 tsp of CLO and 1tsp of Complete

Omega 3.6.9 with no increase in babbling. Ironically, MONTHS ago, I tried him

on 1 capsule/day of ProEFA and he immediately (same day) started babbling.

Since then, things have changed, supplements changed, doctors changed, and

babbling stopped. :( I want to take him off Nordic Natural's CLO and put him on

ProEFA and EPA. How do I figure out how much I'm " losing " in order to not lose

ground? Would someone be able to help me with the formula?

Thanks so much! I should have just stuck to my guns months ago with the ProEFA.

Dear Joanna,

I do not have much experience as of yet with fish oils. We have started our

17 yr old on them. Cold laser or low level laser is an awesome modality

that could help stimulate your sons speech development. It helped our

daughter a lot.

She is dong great. Still has some issues, but overall is very functional.

Check it out drstjernholmal.com is a website you can look at.

Sincerely

Also you may want to look at muscle testing from a qualified practitioner to

help you find best dose and product.

nne,

Is a Dr.'s prescrption needed for using Cold laser or low level laser for speech

improvements for children?

I am definitely interested in learning more about this for my two four year old

autistic kids who have developed almost no speech so far.

Thx
