Hi All,

My son has had 2 P.T. sessions at a new therapy place (thru Early

Intervention) due to the switch from an old therapy place that we

felt we couldn't go to anymore. I was interested in switching to

this new place (and EI services made it happen) because I wanted to

check out their " Suit Therapy " . This place does this European style

of intensive therapy using a TheraSuit. (You can google it to find

out more if you are interested.) We are going to see if we can get

insurance to cover it for one of their 3 week intensive sessions as

our son is going to age out of EI services soon and they wouldn't pay

for that anyway. But the therapist put the TheraSuit on Owen today

and he did great. It's a suit that applies deep

pressure/proprioceptive input and helps kids with SIP issues/low

tone, etc. better organize. She said time and again she observes

kids using better language while it's on, as well. And Owen was

using GREAT language! I asked if parents bought them to use at home

and she didn't think so because you have to be certified in how to

get it on etc. And I guess they cost $2500 !!!! (The 3 week intensive

therapy - which is 3 hours a day for 3 weeks costs $5000!) Anyway,

she then mentioned that Owen would be a great candidate for

a " TheraTog " - again a therapeutic garmet thing that you wear (all

day if the kid can handle it) and it's a similar concept - deep

proprioceptive and stabilizing input. For my son - he's low

tone/hyper-flexible joints, etc. I wanted to share the info. in case

anyone has never heard of this and is interested....
