Guest guest
I remember reading a while back that Vitamin E really was beneficial to apraxic children. I believe there were even a few of you on this group giving high doses of Vitamin E to your children. Then I thought I read somewhere that Vitamin E was not as safe as once thought. Am I remembering this correctly? I ask because my daughter, who was once verbal is now nonverbal (dx with regressive autism with possible apraxia). I am wondering if this is an avenue I should consider for her. Her DAN doctor wants to try Namenda (sp) to help with speech but over the counter medications make me nervous! Any thoughts and/or experiences on Vitamin E and/or Namenda are welcome! Please feel free to e-mail me off line if you would rather post to everyone. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! Guest guest
We saw tremendous results with vitamin E. My son is on Aqua - e (very pricey) because he is allergic to soy so we can't dose with any other type of E. His DAN! has had the clotting factors tested and he is fine. You need to see if it helps first. Try a small amount. A good mix of alpha and gamma worked best for my son. I started him on nature's bounty high gamma (200Ius alpha and 200IUs gamma). If it helps, then work with your doctor to adjust the dose. Just use caution and common sense. > > I remember reading a while back that Vitamin E really was beneficial to apraxic children.
