Guest guest
My daughter is 29months and we give 3 3 6 9 and 3 pro efa a day [ ] When to increase to 2 EFA? Hello there, I've been reading here for many months but have never posted. My daughter just turned 2 and probably has apraxia. She's pretty much completely nonverbal, has fine and gross motor issues, and has been delayed in almost every area. I've been giving her one EFA a day for about two months, though at first I would often forget. I've been consistent for about one month. I haven't seen any dramatic changes, but I do believe it's helping with her cognitive function and a few other things and am committed to continuing. My question is that if I'm not seeing dramatic changes and therefore no clear " plateau " , when should I add the second? Plus, she's 24 months and 26 pounds: would two ProEFA be too much? Thanks for any advice!

Guest guest
Hi Sandy: I saw your message that you are using three 3-6-9 and three ProEFA...these two products are the exact same thing just called two different names. If you are seeing good results and wanted to stay on 6 capsules of 3-6-9 without the extra EPA from ProEPA (EPA), you don't have to use the two different bottles. Below are links so that you can see the two different bottles and ingredients for both bottles. http://nordicnaturals.com/en/Products/Product_Details/98/?ProdID=1416 Complete Omega 3-6-9 http://nordicnaturals.com/en/Products/Product_Details/98/?ProdID=1436 ProEFA Two 1000 mg Soft Gels Contain: EPA: 270 mg DHA: 180 mg Other Omega-3s: 115 mg GLA: 66 mg OA: 160 mg Vitamin E: 30 IU http://nordicnaturals.com/en/Products/Product_Details/98/?ProdID=1414 EPA also called ProEPA Many use the formula 2 ProEFA and 1 ProEFA. Maybe you meant to just use the EFA and not add EPA, but if you thought you were using the formula many use you would want to add ProEPA/EPA. The formula for you would be 4 ProEFA and 2 ProEPA. Guest guest
My sons therapist told me that you really can't diagnose apraxia in a 2 year old but I know that may not be true. I don't know much about using fish oil for a 2 year old but for my 3 year old they have been a Godsend. My 3 year old son was diagnosed last spring with apraxia and that is when I read the late talker book and found this group which is also a wealth of information. I used to read the messages here for hours, but my son's speech therapist and I are no longer even sure if my son has apraxia and I don't read as often. Some parents with apraxic children have to do many other things to help their child talk. My son is in speech therapy and started on just one capsule of proefa and then we went up to two and not long ago added one proepa. I first bought the fish oil at Whole Foods but now buy it from the cherub store where I can buy the proefa and proepa together for a special price http://www.speech411.com There is also a special page for just the proefa with free shipping somewhere but I need the proepa too now. My pediatrician told me he thought the fish oils are fine in the dosage I am using for my son. I hope this year brings your son his voice.
