Guest guest
One capsule of regular ProEFA is about the same as the dosage in infant formula. I'm not sure how they even can have a " Jr. " version of the oil in the body as it's the exact same formula as the regular- but in the capsule it's a 1/2 size dosage per capsule (so you need to take 2-which equals one of the regular) To me the best thing about the Jr is that they are great to teach your child how to swallow the capsules -other than that it's a cuter bottle but in my opinion not worth paying twice as much for if that's the only reason you'll be buying it. There's been a number of people that gave the regular sized capsule of ProEFA to babies with good results -just one capsule. My friend who is an MD in internal medicine used to squeeze the entire capsule into her preemie son 's bottle (when she didn't nurse) and has always been advanced for his age -even as a preemie. is a huge fan of fish oil for herself too. Anyway here's a link on this (which explains how one capsule of regular ProEFA equals the FDA infant dosage) http://www.cherab.org/information/dietaryeffects/efatips.html#Here PS- I don't know anything about the ProEPA for babies as most here for babies either use the ProEFA -or just DHA over the years. Ask if you have any other questions on this -I can find the archives from some of the other parents of children your age if you want to read up on that too. =====
Guest guest
Oh mama! I did it first with the capsules and then with the liquid! You see I give my 5yo a teaspoon a day of Nordic Naturals Omega 3 6 9 Junior liquid. It costs $24.95 for 4 ounces. (A dose is 1/2 teaspoon by the way.) Well the Nordic Naturals Complete Omega 3 6 9 is $30 for 8 ounces! (A dose is 1 tsp and it contains the same thing as 1 tsp of the Jr liquid.) When you buy the Jr you are paying over twice as much for half the product! Duh! The capsules last longer with a shelf life of 3 years whereas the liquid must be used within 3 months. I use up 4 ounces in 24 days giving 1 tsp a day so I don't have to worry about using it up in time. Some people felt the liquid tasted different but I cannot tell the difference. I live in Central FL where my fish oil has to be refrigerated no matter what since it's so hot and humid here (it was 90 last Monday!!). > > Is there any adjustments needed to the amount given to a two year old. I want to start my son on the Nordic Naturals Jr. Liquid. Should I consider the ProEpa liquid instead? Thoughts, opinions and comment welcome. >
Guest guest
I've just started by 4 1/2 year old daughter on Nordic Naturals Omega 3.6.9 Junior. I believe we are seeing results but after some more reading on old posts I think maybe I should have purchased Nordic Naturals ProEFA instead. I'm not sure I understand the difference!? Can anyone share some insight... Thanks so much! Liz > > > > Is there any adjustments needed to the amount given to a two year old. I want to start my son on the Nordic Naturals Jr. Liquid. Guest guest
I have my 2 1/2 old daughter on Nordic Naturals 369 (the adult formula) 2 pills 1x a day. I believe you need to give your child 4 of the jrs to equal 2 of the adult 369. -------------- Original message from " " <liamlibby@...>: -------------- I've just started by 4 1/2 year old daughter on Nordic Naturals Omega 3.6.9 Junior.
