Guest guest
Hi everyone, My son is about to turn 3 so we are getting ready to meet the IEP team and write his IEP for preschool. He is significantly apraxic, he makes no consonant sounds and has no words whatsoever. He has a sign language vocab of over 200 words at this point and that's his only means of expressive communication. I was advised to make sure that his IEP goals are all linked to a " Total Communication Classroom " , but I'm not sure how to write goals like this. I'm brand new to this process and haven't a clue where to start. I don't trust our school officials to be good at this as we're in a small isolated area and there seems to be little understanding of apraxia from what I can see. I searched the archives on this list but didn't find anything that would help me with this situation. Thanks for any advice you can throw my way, -
