Guest guest Posted February 24, 2009 Report Share Posted February 24, 2009 Bergen county transition fair the special education regions of bergen county, the nj division of vocational rehabilitation (dvrs) heightened independence and progress ( hip) and bergen community college division of continuing education proudly present a countywide transition fair to assist families in planning for their son's or daughter's future admission to the fair is free and open to the public, join us date march 19th 2009 time 6pm-9pm bergen community college technology education center, room 128 parking in lot b 400 paramus road paramus, nj 07652 information on a wide variety pf post secondary options will be available to hlep students with all levels of disabilities prepare for their transition to adult life. at this fair , there will be representatives from nj state and county agencies including ddd9 division of developmental disabilties) dvrs 9 division of vocational rehabilitation services) bergen county office of disabilitity services, bergen county workforce center,etc. colleges and trade schools supported employment agencies support agencies such as access link, hip, guardianships, wills,trusts, agencies that provide day programs, sheltered workshops, etc parents workshops will be presented on various topice 6;45-7;30pm establishing guardianship ( presented by emery c duell esq of beattie padovano, llc preparing students with learning disabilities for college, presented by joseph cafaro, regional center, fairleigh dickinson university and clair carfaro, clear directions, college admissions counseling 7;45-8:30pm the transition process and skills necessary to enter the workforce including competitive and supported employment, presented by dvrs, span, and hip youth transition to work; exploring the benefits and opportunities of working in the building unions presented by butch wade, new jersey state building trades the more you know ,the better you and your child can prepare for the for the future all bergen county families are invited to atten, if you have any questions or need any accomodations,eg, interpretive services, transportation etc, please contact region v at 201-599-0585 ext 15 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
