i got this email and thought I would share with this group for those

who may reside in Ohio.

Lori

is a local mother with an apraxic daughter. She is

trying to get government support and awareness for Apraxia. Please

see her message below...

apraxia support

I plan on meeting with a member of Congressman Boehner's staff on

this Thursday, December 18th, during " open door hours " to discuss

recent autism insurance legislation and the need to include other

pediatric neurological disorders. Below are a list to times and

places. If anyone is interested in going with me, please e-mail me

the best time and place for you.

If you are unable to attend, a letter detailing what apraxia means to

you and your family would be useful - please include insurance issues!

Pictures are wonderful, too! I will provide education on Apraxia, so

you do not need to include this in your letter.

11:30 AM - Hamilton City Council Chambers (One Renaissance Center, 1st

Floor)

1:30 PM - Trenton City Building (11 East State Street)

2:30 PM - Monroe Municipal Building (233 South Main Street)

I understand this is a very busy time of year for everyone. But

President-Elect Obama has already drafted a federal mandate for autism

insurance reform. I think we will be missing a much needed

opportunity to help our children if we sit back and let this mandate

pass as is.

Read the legislation - search Autism Treatment Acceleration Act of 2008.

E-mail me any questions. Please forward this to all who may be

interested.

Thank you,
