Dear Rockland County Educator:

On Thursday, September 25, 2008, Camp Venture and I will be co-sponsoring

the

Third Annual Rockland County Autism Symposium at the Holiday Inn Conference

Center in Suffern, NY. (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

Our focus this year will be on recent findings and advancements in research,

new tools for short and long term planning and service and a new look at

resources for adults with Autism. We are pleased to include presenters from

Yale University, NYU and the Kline Institute, Autism Speaks, the

National Institute of Mental Health and the Carbone Clinic.

Last year, our Symposium set the Rockland County record for attendance at

any Symposium to date. We look forward to this year's event with great

anticipation, and your attendance and participation is both valued and

appreciated.

For additional information on the events of the day, our distinguished

speakers and registration, please visit our website -

www.rocklandautismsymposium.com. The reservations for last year's symposium

reached maximum capacity very quickly - therefore, I encourage prompt

registration.

Tackling the issue of mental illness and developmental disability has always

been my top priority. I hope you and members of your administration and

faculty will join me on September 25th.

Very truly yours,

JOHN A. MURPHY, Rockland County Legislator

President, Camp Venture Board of Directors
