The symposium is co-facilitated by Rockland County Legislator , Lukens, Executive Director of Camp Venture and the Venture Foundation. " Autism is one of a number of illnesses included in the pervasive developmental disorder spectrum, " said Legislator , " According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control, Autism now occurs once in every 150 births, six children out of every 1000 born. We are pleased, once again, to present this symposium to provide insight and education on current, cutting edge research and treatment of Autism by some of the most respected voices in the field. " NYS Senator Morahan will address the attendees. The Senator is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities. The keynote speaker is Dr. Ami Klin, Associate Professor of Child Psychology and Psychiatry and Director of the Autism Program at Yale University's Child Study Center.
